- A contingency fund is a non-negotiable element of your design budget. Be prepared for unexpected costs along the way.
- Keep track of paperwork and receipts in one place. Exchanges and returns are inevitable.
- If you see something you like, confirm you can return it and buy it then and there to avoid disappointment on your return to the store.
Bonus Tip: Tracking all your purchases in detail means when it comes time to touch up your paint or replace an accessory, you’ll have a record of where you bought everything and what colour you used.
